I haven't been keeping up with world events lately, so here are some news bits from other places in the world.
Guatemala
Guatemala searches through the records of the National Police for those who went missing during the civil war.
Egypt
Skirmishes with police during elections leave several people dead. The U.S. is feeling less optimistic about Mubarak's commitment to democratic reform.
Afghanistan
On the bright side, people in Afghanistan are generally optimistic about their future.
Southeast Asia
Myanmar is on everybody's shit list.
Eritrea
Eritrea ejects U.N. Peacekeepers. Is this the beginning of a new Ethiopian-Eritrean war?

why must you always post disturbing news, Arthur? Isn't there anything happy going on anywhere in the world?
Nope, it's all pretty shitty, unless you're particularly into Shadenfreude. However, I thought that the news from Afghanistan was at least somewhat uplifting.
